Three years is not that long as far as acne goes...I have had it since I was in grade 3 and now I'm in my twenties. There is no gauranteed cure for acne despite what anyone might try to tell you or sell you. However, if you want to find tonnes of information about remedies or the like try http://www.acne.org/messageboard/ Any cure imaginable is discussed there and you will find all the information you need to make an informed descision about what you can do.

Don't take one single person's word for any treatment, even a doctor's. Find out all the information you can about something before you put it on your face or in your body.

I use St. Ives and since it has different bottles for different kinds of skin, I think it works really well. I've noticed that when I use it, I don't have any acne after about a week but when I stop to use other products, my acne comes back. Good Luck and hope I helped. If you want to buy it, it's at all the drugstores. I get mine at target though. It's 3 dollars and cheaper than most acne products but it works better in my opinion.

although i'm sure proactiv does work for some people, it didn't work so much for me, and i've suffered with acne for awhile. make an appointment with a dermatalogist...sometimes you have to wait awhile to actually get in to see them, but believe me it's well worth the wait. i've been going to mine for over a year now and my skin has definitely improved...i'm now taking a medication day and night...plus i have 2 prescribed lotions that i use. the best you can do before you can get into the doctors office is to just keep your skin clean and take care of it the best you can. always make sure you wash off all your makeup at night before you go to bed...there's a cleansing brand in most drugstore called "Purpose"...my dermatologist likes me to used their cleansing bar in the morning and night, as well as their moisturizing face cream at night. You should try those because at least you could go out and get started.

There's no easy way to put this - there is no known cure for acne. Acne will come and go during the teen years, and will probably fade away as one becomes an adult. I've tried many products also, but none have worked. Don't sweat it - they'll go away one day.

It's true once you start using proactive you have to use it daily, twice or three times a day. I use it, and since I don't keep up with that routine sometimes..I break out. It can also be due to stress. So I suggest to try out proactive, and treat yourself to something once a week maybe? Relax, and don't forget to wash and do the routine three times a day! Good luck.

i have also tried everything, even proactive, which didnt work. i use clinique's 3 step program for acne and it really works. i was skeptical about it at first until my boyfriend eventually convinced me to try it (since it cleared up his skin when he was a teen) and it worked! it's the only thing i use on my face now.

though what may work for one person may not work for another.. but if it worked for me there's a possibility it can work for you too.

dont try proactive because u will have to continueously have to use it. i have acne too. usually if it wont go away and u have a good hygene then its jsut your genes. and will go away after time.

if u really want to get rid of it now convince ur parents to take u to a dermitoligest and get a medication for it.
