if you can read tabs can you help me with this

does that mean i play the D then theB/G at the same time? or what? this is the intro to Hey There Delilah.

PS: How long did it take you guys to get REALLY good with guitar? =]

What you have to play is simple: Dm and F#m. Strum them as chords and be done with it.

Don't rely on tablature for guitar perfection. Learn to read and write notation--music theory is best.

ok:
the e-B-G-A-D-A-E are the srting names
0-1-2-3-4: 0 is no finger 1 is your index finger 2 is your middle finger 3 is your ring finger 4 is your pinky

so basicaly yeah and as for good it took me quite a while and im still learning but my friend was playing cowboys from hell after 4 months

Yes you are correct. Pluck the D string, then the G and B string at the same time.

From the song, it sounds like the guitar player is using his thumb to pluck the D string, and his index and middle finger to pluck the G and B string.

If you have passion, patience, and dedication (ie. read-up on guitar tips and techniques off the internet) you should get good at guitar pretty quickly.
