Amen to what Paula R said. We are supposed to turn the other cheek, but it's hard at times. If we seek revenge ourselves, then how can God deliver justice for us?

The Amish in this situation are on a whole other level than I am, that is for sure. Their response was the purest Christian act I have seen, and they have challenged me to examine my own responses. This is what Christians are supposed to do for each other--exemplify Christ's forgiveness and lead by example.

Jesus wants his followers to turn the other cheek, according to most accounts.

Yes of course they forgave that man. I have forgiven the man that murdered my nephew. I am sure many others have as well.

He would want us to forgive of course. Hopefully, we could all handle it as Jesus would.
