I work in house keeping at a nursing home, and i had just worked last night and for the first time i was passing out cloths (putting residents cloths in their closets) and in the process this elder man walks up to me...
At my job ive really been having problems, i was hired without orientation, so i wasnt informed on safty precaution issues, wasnt getting paid enough etc...etc...
Well anyway, this elder man walks up to me and says..." dont let them use you as an instrument, you work really hard" and then he said "i love you" lol... Now keep in mind that i have never in my life seen this guy before, and yes i know that there are some patients/residents that my not be in their right mind, but do you think that it was god that could have been speaking through him trying to tell me somthing??? because i have been lacking on praying/reading the bible, and since ive been working there they had me working every sat. and sun. (i usually go to church on saturdays) i havnt been to church

Every person who is a patient is NOT mentally unstable. Some are there because they have other problems or they were merely thrown away. Yes, I believe that God does speak to us through others. Sometimes we flip to a "wrong television station" and stop because we must listen to what God is telling us. The same goes for a newspaper left on the subway train, elevated train or the bus, that offers some spiritual yet very helpful advice. I say to you, that it was not an accident. Very few of us have employment in the United States and around the world. Please don't let anyone or any thought provoke you to leave your job. If you still love God and I know that you do, he is there for you, watching your every move and continuing to love you. I believe that you are a good person who follows God's wishes. Be punctual on the job and keep praying, this is what God expects. When you get a chance, go to any church that respects God and have quiet meditation with Him. Know this, YOU ARE A VERY VALUABLE MEMBER of GOD's FAMILY.
I want to share with you some of my favorite scriptures. What shall we then say to these things? If GOD be for us, WHO can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with BENEFITS, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. BEFORE you enter a room or building, quietly say, "Peace Be To This House." - Luke 10:5. Those who are within those premises, will have a more peaceful attitude. You can take credit for the change in them. The world is the Lord's house. You should try that when you approach your work there.
Now, for the BIG GUNS, read Psalm 35, on a daily basis, to (Plead My Cause). It is a long-winded, worthwhile and very powerful psalm. The Lord will hear your sincere requests and will give you favor regarding your concerns.
I believe that God wants for me to help others. This is why I am on Yahoo Answers. Also, I need help from time to time so I ask questions as well. I have gotten some very fruitful answers. I wish you well.
May you have a prosperous, healthy, peaceful, God-endowed, Happy New Year. God truly loves us all.

When I used to visit my grandmother at our local nursing home, a very elderly man ame up to me and rasped, "I once had sex with a girl...she wasn't old enough but I was..."
Do you think it might have been god trying to tell me something about that incident with Mary back in the day?
I'm sorry--I don't mean to belittle your question; it's just that old people say a lot of funny things, and I don't think you should read too much into them...
(I'm not making that story up either; an old man at the nursing home really did tell me that...)

Listen to what your spirit tells you. There are many times peopel encounter angels in disguise and they don't always look pretty or what you would expect from a heavenly being. If you think that God is trying to tell you something, then you should listen. Maybe try changing shifts so you can go back to church, if that doesn't work see if God opens a door for a new job.
Blessings.

Angels visit us in many forms. I know when I am being sidetracked by Satan and I have to stop myself, and get back on track. Don't neglect the Lord. For you to even ask the question means it is on your heart. You already know the answer. If you absolutely can not make it to church - pray. You can talk with Him everyday while you work. God knows I would need to pray doing the kind of work you do... It is not easy. Many blessings.

Only you can know that for yourself. you cant ask other people if an experience you had came from God. The only way is to turn to Him and ask. If you are truly wanting to know then God will not only let you know if it was He, but what it was he was saying to you. Look inside your self, ask God, and then you will find out.
Edit:I agree with Yellek to an extent but i think it was too much for her to say "definitely" she cant know that for sure because she isn't you. although she is right, God communicates with us in many different ways.
Edit again: what do I think? well I think thats a very nice story, but hon, like I said before I cant tell you if it came from God. And you are not going to find your answer here. How am I supposed to know weather or not God was speaking to you when I didnt here it, or feel it, or see it. Its impossible for me to tell you, but I think its nice that your thinking so deeply about it, now apply it to God.

definetly. God talks to people in different, mysterious(sometimes odd to us) ways! I have no doubt that He was speaking to you. God loves everybody. He was probably getting a message of a spiritual awakening and a sign of His love to you to give hope.
Remember: don't lose your fatih! All Christians struggle sometimes with their walk with Jesus, but you can pull through. If you want, just pray right now. It doesn't have to be long, and deep, and powerful preachy stuff, just a quick, 'thanks you Jesus for dying on the cross for me' or 'God, forgive me of my sins' or even a prayer request 'Father, please bless me and my job and help it to progress'.....
I hope this works for you. Don't worry, i struggle with my spiritual walk also! God was speaking to you. And He and His Son love you. And you are being watched over by the Holy Spirit.! God Bless!
