Faith DOES rest on proof, you seem to not get that important point.
Even the smartest person (recorded) in the world (Einstein) acknowledged the creation must have been from something much more powerful and wise than some silly big bang theory. You know that something that goes bang actually destroys, right?
Just look around you, there is proof everywhere. Not only that, God has worked some miracles in my life and blessed me many times over. Isn't that proof? I certainly think so.

And you'll notice that this illogical faith is always portrayed in a good light in popular culture and fiction, while rejection of an entity/phenomenon for which there is no proof (in the realm of religion) is invariably painted in a sad, gloomy, misguided light.
