This wasn't meant as a Christian bashing, that was not my intent. They are free, as anyone is, to follow their beliefs. Question posed concerning the apparent similiraties to ancient gods, and mythology.

All mythologies borrow or steal stories from each other.and yes Judaism/Christianity is just another group of myths. Equally valid but no more valid than other religions. But there is actual proof of the existence of Appollonius of Tyana, unlike Jesus Christ.

same ole question with just a different twist to it.. *sigh*, and what makes you think that the *borrowed* stories were not *borrowed* from the believers of God ?? Christians believe God created life, therefore, God was first, and pagan mythology came from the disobediance of those who turned *away* from God...... this argument is as old as time..... there has and always will be those who are Gods' and those who are not..... We will all find out for sure one day, believers and non-believers..... *shrug*....... go in peace..... God bless

What about the concept of the servant God?
What about the God that was killed by man?
What about the God that came, not as a conquering hero, but taught us to serve, be humble, and turn the other cheek?
What about the God that commended meekness, peacemakers, the poor in spirit, etc?
Those are not only the major differences, those are the important differences.

Yes. But borrowed is too loose a term. Stolen is better.

Isn't it obvious that many aspects of prophecy have been turned into false religions over time?

Christianity isn't a story. It is a life of walking through the straight gate (Jesus) and staying on the narrow path (obedience and faith) which leads to eternal life (hope).
No stories to borrow from. Only a life to live. Amen.
