What would be a good place to find a cleaned one? Gun shows? And how much should I expect to pay for a yugo sks?

Not sure about the price, but I've cleaned many a cosmolined rifle. The safest way is to break them down and boil them in a large bucket until the cosmoline disolves. Of course no one does this, it takes too long and is really messy. I've used paint thinner, kerosene, gasoline, brake cleaner, lighter fluid all with good results. I generally prefer paint thinner (mineral spirits) as it is not as dangerous as the others. As others have said there is no better way to know your rifle than to break it down and clean it which you are going to have to do eventually if you shoot it.

comes across that bridge on I-10 and welcome to Texas. There is a crap load of SKS's here. I Live in the Houston area (Humble). They range from $99 to $300 here but $165 for a Yugo in very good condition and $225 for a Yugo you would probably want as a show piece is the norm. There is a place on 59 highway in Houston called Father and Son Swap Shop that sells the SKS and they can clean it for you if you want. They sell all kinds of military guns with about 20 SKS's on display and more in the back in crates. For gun shows, the High Caliber Gun Show comes to Houston, Pasadena, Tyler, Dallas, and the Great Southern Gun Show goes to Louisiana. Gun shows let you bargain a little bit but be sure to bring a case or sack because somes shows won't let you walk out with a firearm in plain sight. The best way to clean yourself is a $30 hand steamer, which gets real hot and oozes all the cosmo out.

A simple trick for cleaning cosmoline is to wait for a hot sunny day, hang the firearm in direct sunlight, barrel down, action open from a cord or wire. In a couple of hours, most of the cosmoline will melt and flow off the firearm, I put an old plastic sheet on the ground under it and leave the plastic till the evening when it cools down, the cosmoline re thickens and I just roll it up and toss it in the trash. 90+ days work best.

try local pawn shops for a used one. A Yugo sks will run around $250-$300 at most gun shows. I don't know where you live, but sks's are not as common as they used to be at gun shows in Mississippi. In fact, they're getting kind of hard to find down here.

A pint of kerosene, and a handbook on how to break down the SKS and about a 1/2 hr to disasemble a very easy rifle to break down and then oil it up, using a standard rifle/shotgun cleaning kit is easier than cleaning it after shooting it. As for the price, after hunting season is over rifles go down in price, so right after Christmas is the besttime to buy

Don't be a wuss and clean the thing yourself. You really get to know and love your rifle and how it fits together, before you go shooting.
A can of cheap spray carb cleaner, a can of easy-off, some rags and a can of Boiled Linseed Oil and an afternoon.......nothing better!
