I have a 93 olds cutlass supreme and the front end is waaay out of alignment. Whenever I got it it was fine but I drove it to Kentucky and on the same trip blew out the back struts and one of the tires tread came off and it swelled up really bad and I drove it for 150 miles like that. Anyways I wanna get it realigned now and I'm gonna do it after I get the new struts this weekend, but I need to know if it matters if I buy new tires before or after getting it aligned. I don't see how it would make any difference but I want to make sure. I'm gonna have all 4 replaced but I want to wait till after I get it realigned. Would it make any difference?

The ideal, is to replace the tires, and do the alignment at the same time. It will be easy to tell if the job was done right. All to often it is not, i.e., the car pulls to one side, and the mechanic is quick to claim, it is being caused by your old worn out tires.

Also, if you replace your tires first, and drive any appreciable distance with the wheels not aligned, you may cause premature, uneven tire wear. You can really destroy a set of tires, in short order, if your wheels are not properly aligned.
