Everyone ive spoken to loves the film "the silence of the lambs" with Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lector. Especially the scenes with him and Jodi Foster:
Im not saying Saddam was innocent, but I would have given my left arm (sorry) to interview the man.
I would have loved to have asked him about....
WMD
was he a CIA asset & his dealings with them
was he tortured for a confession
was he really found in a rabbit hole
was he sold nerve gas by Rumsfield and a UK company
was he offered a plee bargain for a signed confession
did he have any control over his army in Gulf War 2
did he have a legit border dispute with Kuwait
was he going to switch to euros per barrel (oil)
how did he make Bagdad the "paris of the middle east"
would you rather die than be stuck in this jail cell...

We will never know, we hung an old man & his side of the story
Agree?

Saddam was a friend of America not that long ago, thats why they hung him quickly rather than having a trial.

Well, you can certainly research all his writings and interviews; some of your answers would be found in them.
In the US nobody brings this up, but I'm sure that in Iraq they knew well that Saddam Hussein would be a danger as long as he lived. The political situation was unstable, his partisans were still active. A military coup or a future election (probably faulty) could have had him back in power. Not a good idea.
He could not very well be kept prisoner outside Iraq for political reasons. Imagine, if he were kept in another Middle East country; the same dangers would be there. If he were kept in the US, can you imagine the outcries! And if he were kept in some other country, there would still be pressure to let him out; and it might happen.
I think this is one case in which the execution was necessary.

what the heck does Silence of the lambs and Saddam Insane have to do with each other...I don't get it!!!!
if your American, you'd give your left arm to interview him.....
he'd rip off your arm, throw it to stray dogs, then go eat.....
your talking about a man, with an upbringing that is not able to reason with. He was as much a "madman" as Hitler! Not as well organized. But just as nuts!!

I can understand your interest, but you would only get a biased answer from interviewing him. Of course he would talk highly of him self. The only way to get answers is to look at the events that transpired in his life. The one that I would love to interview is Bush, now that would be interesting.

What good would it do? He would lie because he would never divulge his information to a court, let alone a reporter.
This man was the epitome of evil, along with others in our past. The truth or goodness wasn't in him.

I for one, did not enjoy nor find entertaining, Silence of the Lambs - nor do i get it as the segue into Saddam. However, to answer your question, I agree that an old man was hung and although some may know his side of his story - we won't -and further, I couldn't care less.

No way......Everyone knew his side of the story, by virtue of the way the citizens of his country were treated.....that in itself, told hid story loud and clear. You clearly talk out of your ***.
You say, "we hung an old man and his side of the story" ........well old he may have been, but, think of the people he persecuted, and who died, and didnt get to become old men.......i will say it again, you are clearly talking out of your ***
