No, he's not going back to DEI.

Michael needs to focus on either driving or running a team, not both.

In my opinion, he's pretty much done as a driver. But I feel that he has what it takes to be a successful owner. He needs to hang up the helmet and let somebody else take the wheel. The only way his team is going to really succeed is for him to be a full time owner.

I actually think he wouldn't go back even if he could. I think he wants to see his team be successful. And now with Gibbs changing to Toyota, and Toyota believes in the sharing of information, Mikey has gotta feel the future is gonna be better. Plus DEI has got the young drivers being mentored by Mark, and their forth car will be on track soon enough with another young driver. And I think it maybe be an Earnhardt driving it (Jeffrey?).

I'm pretty sure that he wont because he's an owner to 3 teams, including himself, and then he has spent a ton of money building the team, and employing everyone, and making the team what it is today. I mean its not the greatest team but they have had some good races and some bad races, and I think that with all the money they have spent testing and everything with the COT I dont see him giving up his owner or driver position anytime soon.

When Mikey left DEI, he took one of their major sponsors (NAPA) with him. That probably created some bad blood between them all.
Since then he's sort of committed himself to being an owner/driver of a three car team so I'm leaning towards NO!

He only wish he could. But I read that he's getting ready for season 2 of being a car owner.

I think M. Waltrip is about as Bull Headed as Teresa Earnhardt, I can`t see that taking place.

I'm sure deep down inside he'd like to but, he is to involved with his own team now..It would be great, but I don't think he is going anywhere. Its going to be interesting next yr, with JGR being the big Toyota team, how the others do, will they succeed?? we'll all just have to wait and see..

no, he has too much pride to go back. would be admitting that going to toyota was a mistake. toyota would drop his team. MWR is where he will be the rest of his driving career.

The chances are slim that he would return.Looks like the Toyota team could be his last hurrah.
