Only if you want more disappointment and heartache than you've ever had before. The worst part about knowing they are bipolar, is that you feel bad about the fact that they are so inconsistent and crazy. I've known a few as close friends, my best friend just divorced one. Don't go there unless you are a little masochistic, or like a real challenge...

I am bipolar and a lot of people are. Some are more than others, they have more extreme symptoms. It is a mental illness that can be treated with the right medication and that is the thing. I take mine. I feel better. so, id she is on meds and understands that she needs them and they are helping her, please give her at least the same chance you would give any other girl. It's only fair. If you find it to be too much you may have to end it and got on. There are worse things than being bipolar...like a liar or a cheat or anything like that right? Good luck. Miss Mary

Well for one thing u would not know the girl is Bipolar unless she told u or u know the history of this particular female right.
And in answer to ur question why wouldn't I date her everything can be controlled by medication right n who am I or u to judge someone because they have a medical condition not unless u know she has a violent history when her bipolar kicks in.

My cousin, legally schizophrenic, married a bipolar girl and their marriage is a psychotic roller-coaster resulting in jail-time for spousal-abuse, alcoholism, and drug addiction.
If you're bipolar - try living on a 100% raw, organic, vegan diet. The hormones in meat and pesticides in fruits and vegetables may be messing with your natural body chemistry.
I would not voluntarily choose to be with a bipolar girl because I have enough drama in my life without someone else's chemical imbalances making it more difficult to live happily "til death" when we part.

Honestly, there are degrees of this, and I used to date a mildly bipolar girl. She was terrific when she was 'up', but the 'downs' eventually got to me.
I probably wouldn't do it again, only because it got too weird at the end, but it was great for the first few months.

Depending on how much control she has over her bipolarism, yes. If it gets to the point where she starts freaking you out, just end it. Don't get in too far over your head!

I realize that there are ACTUALLY bi-polar people who need treatment, but I know that there are also people who are diagnosed as bi-polar when that's just not the case. It's becoming like ADD/ADHD anymore. Everyone is freakin' bi-polar. I'm saying this because just because someone says they're bi-polar...doesn't mean they are. Every mood swing is being labeled a bi-polar episode anymore. Everytime someone feels like throwing a tantrum...they're bi-polar. My adoptive mother was genuinely bi-polar (and a few other things that combined, required long stints in mental institutions). I have friends who CLAIM to be. There is a definite difference between manic depressive (bi-polar) and someone who is labeled wrongly. Someone who is actually bi-polar and needs the medication is fine to date, as long as they're mature enough and responsible enough to take it. Someone who isn't, will throw a fit for no reason, or make demands to get you to jump through hoops, when really...they're not dealing with a disorder, they're just being a jerk and using their 'diagnosis' to excuse their childish behaviour.

It depends on how old you are and how she is managing her bipolar disorder. If you are old enough to handle it, and she is handling it in a responsible way, then maybe I would.
