PA and NJ have a reciprocal tax agreement. For the correct answer we need to know which state you live in.

You need to find out how each state handles part year resident (or non-resident) taxes. Typically it may be prorated so your NJ tax would be based on what you earned when living there and portion of standard or itemized deductions based on that time period, and similarly PA tax would be based on the time you lived there. If real estate sales is involved, that is typically taxed (if any) by the state where the property was located, and might also be taxed by the state you are in now, minus tax paid to the other state.

NJ and PA have a reciprocity agreement in place. You ONLY file in your home state and ONLY pay income tax in your home state, assuming that you live in either NJ or PA. If you live in NY, that would be different.

My ideal suggestion could be to get an accountant, yet this is what's going to take place. unquestionably, you will would desire to document a return in all of the states. Assuming all of them have a state earnings tax. The states in which you earned earnings could have taken state earnings taxes out. you will document as a non-resident in PA on account which you never lived there, and then as a factor-time resident in the different states. you will owe PA taxes on account which you labored there, and then the different states on account which you lived there. How plenty you owe would be desperate by employing how plenty you earned there, how plenty you lived there, and their tax costs. you will get credit for taxes paid in manhattan, DE and pa on account which you labored in those states, and those states took the money out. without understanding numbers, i actual won't be able to permit you recognize in case you will get refunds, owe money, or how a selection of of the two you would be watching. As I suggested in the commencing up, take it to an accountant. good success!
