Whats the point of caged Lion hunting? I mean hunting a lion in its natural habitat is one thing there you have to test yourself tracking it stalking it and make sure it doesn't get you and would be an awesome experience. But when you "hunt" one in an enclosed area often baited what the hell is the point?

What you just described is not in my description of hunting.

Also, it is OK to me if you don't agree to hunting, you could think that pink gophers started the planet with 3 jelly beans and a small ham, I don't care, but don't waste your time shoving anti-hunting propaganda down the throats of people who won't ever agree with you. I also think you made a typo, that should say you convinced 10 out of 24 people to laugh hysterically in your face for being so stupid.

Of course that's not hunting! The definition of hunting is this:

'To chase or search for (game or other wild animals) for the purpose of catching or killing.'

There is absolutely no 'chase' or 'search' in the case of the lion. Therefore, it's not hunting! Just...killing.

To Jim A. Clearly you are a hunter. You're defending your past time, if not career, and that is fine. But, to make a generalization about someone by saying 'your kind,' is not very smart. Sure she stands up for animals! But, how do you know she doesn't wear synthetic clothing? How do you know her makeup is from a non-animal product brand? How do you know she doesn't ride a bike to get around? Do you really know her well enough to say that she doesn't like rats, or mice or bats? Maybe she has pet mice...who knows? Maybe she's a vegan. Or, at the least a vegetarian! And, most of all...you shouldn't make assumptions that she and every other animal rights activist is violent. Because, it's just not the case. These people give caring people bad names. Instead of speaking genuinly to hunters, they choose to be violent, and that's not right.

I just had to say something. I'm not sure if you'll look back to read what I posted, but I certainly hope you do. I feel your biased answer is giving hunters everywhere a bad name. I know not all hunters think like this. That is all.

That is barbaric and disgusting. that's not hunting its slaughter for a hide. the story of the Americans shooting mountain cats up trees is just as bad - but then the guys hunting the lions in the cages are probably Americans paying through their necks for the experience. the other thing I can't abide is hunters going after all sorts of game with night vision goggles and telescopic lenses on their rifles - what kind of sport is that? does the animal stand even half a chance? To answer your question Innocenta, there is huge bucks to be made from hunting but as is described by Pete. Not really a clever thing to do though hunting lion !!!!!!

Well no it's not hunting! Only a laxy bum would do that.

So Miss anti-hunter what have you done for animals and their habitat lately?
Have you ever had a hunter walk into the cosmetic section of the store and explain that many of those cosmetics were made from animal products and therefore you are a hypocrite!
You people really tick me off. You home took away animal habitat, the road your car drives on as well, the white paper glue you use came from animals, how about your food, your clothes, etc etc. Fact is people like you are full of it! You go to the store and by things that were made from animals and stuff your face with animal products and then put hunting down. Your worse than pathetic. Your kind has burned down ski resorts, smashed the windows of hunters trucks, thrown blood on fur coats; all in the name of save the animals.
Its ok not to hunt, ok not to like hunting. BUT IT IS WRONG TO FORCE YOUR IDEAS ON OTHERS!!!
Hunter do FAR more for animals than anti-hunters.
When was the last time you shelled out a few hundred a year on wildlife habitat or picked up trash in the woods, or set up nesting boxes?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm?
I know your kind you cry and complain bout killing animals UNTILL you have mice, rats, bats, ferial cats, in your home or have a coyote eat your cat.
You’re the ones who call fish and game to remove the eagle that ate your cat.
Jezzzzzzzzzz! Get lost!!!

There are some animals I feel should not be hunting the Lion is one of them. But when you take part in a canned hunt as they are called it is not hunting it is killing.

The point is for rich ******* to go and shoot some animal that they would not ever be able to find in the wild because they never leave the city. This provides them with a quick fast easy way to hunt. These effin ******* need to have there rifles shoved up there ******* and have the trigger pulled. That is why I have stopped watching hunting shows on TV. I seen one guy claiming to be the most ethical hunter in the world. But he is chasing baby pigs that are turned loose in a pined in area and he is shooting them with a pellet rifle.

"The rich...who are content to buy what they have not the skill to get by their own exertions, these are the real enemies of game."
-Theodore Roosevelt-

You mean caged lion shooting. There is no hunting involved in that. It's disgusting and should be made illegal...... http://www.real-hunters.com/ Check out how sickening it has become. Stand up for true sportsman and conservationists but never justify this kind of crap.

Fair chase or no chase.

Relax Jim A , surf is just a kid who had to go to answers to ask questions on how to date boys in another area. No need to cuff her so much.

I agree killing anything in a cage is not hunting. Its just killing.

I also think that anti-hunters should keep their answers and questions in either the political or environmental area. Pestering hunters here is rude and disdainful of others freedom of expression.
You are harassing hunters and that is against Yahoo policy.

not very sporting is it, maybe the firearm will jam, I love to hunt myself, but to hunt something in a cage that probably is fed at the same place same time everyday til its their turn to be turned into dollars, only a chicken chit would do something like that

You can't compare that to hunting, there is no excuse for it, and isn't hunting at all.

I don't agree with hunting at all - what pleasure can you get from killing something?

I actually didn't even know of this "caged hunting". That's even worse - what's the challenge and point?!

(I'm one of the people that has walked into a hunting section at a sporting goods store, brought pics and stuff and conviced 10 out of 24 people in that section that hunting is unhumane - now I'll have to go back with caged hunting stuff)
