Okay, so I was cleaning my ears yesterday and there was kind of a lot of wax because I accidentally went too long without cleaning them. Anyway once I got the ear wax out it was still a teeny bit clogged-feeling, so I put this stuff called Auro Dri in my ear to get any of the water out (I clean my ears with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water), but now the Auro Dri is clogging my ear. How ironic. Anyway it burned a little because I'm pretty sure it's just isopropyl alcohol, and the reason it's not draining is because my ear is a little swollen. What can I do to make it come out faster? (PS, this has happened before, but I can't remember how I fixed it. Also, there's not that much stuff in it because I can still hear out of it pretty well.)

OK I'm pretty sure I know what I did: I cleaned too much earwax out of my ear. I just read online that a protective layer of earwax stops water buildup...I might have gotten rid of that. Please help, I've already tried the peroxide thing and I don't know what else to do.

They sell this new stuff over the counter at any drug store. It's called "Ear-igate. It looks like a can of mousse, and you put it in your ear and it sprays BACKWORDS, so it's really gentle. I think you should try it. you can always talk to the pharmacist first. They are SO smart, kind, and helpful. the pharmacist will guide you. You'll see.
Good luck! :)

It'll drain by itself, given a few days. If it's bugging you, you can take some sudafed--it opens up all the sinus/ear passages by calming swelling. Chew gum. Sleep on the side with water in it.

This may sound weird but run really fast and shake your head to the right or left depending on the ear, sounds weird but it works! If it doesn't then see a doctor.

ok, this happens to me too much so do this:

turn your head to the side of the ear that has water in it

open and close your mouth several time while poking your ear;

sounds really weird but it works from personal experience ;)

good luck :)

Whenever i get that, i tilt my head to one side (the ear with the water in facing the floor and you looking sideways) and then like headbang quite hard and it usually shakes it loose really easily.
=] hope this helped.
