I HATE WAITING for people! If they're talking to someone or just taking their sweet time, I don't have a problem leaving them. That is such a pet peeve of mine!

Between parents and friends, too many to note!

Up to 20 minutes is the basic amount of time one should wait; more than that, particularly in this age of cell-phones, is simply rude.

Some people are always late--it's their nature. If you know that they are generally 20/40/90 minutes late, adjust your schedule accordingly (if the movie starts at 9, tell them it starts at 8:30; ditto for weddings). If they happen to catch on to what you're doing, they may themselves be pissed, but you can always explain that you were doing it for the friendship (an explanation they still may not like, but one they'll have a hard time explaining when it happens so frequently).

No one likes waiting around for someone else, and everyone works on their own clocks. Knowing this, we can only do our best at adjusting our schedules (or pronounced schedules) so that everyone is happy, without being annoyed.

Best of luck!

It is very rude to keep anyone waiting. But should the unavoidable occur, a sincere apology is a must! If you don't make a habit of being late, you'll certainly be forgiven.

I once had to hold the start my son's birthday party because another child was late. His mother thought we wouldn't mind waiting while he bowled another string. I was polite, but how unfair our group missed almost 30 minutes of pool time!

I do!!! When some repeatedly does that I figure my feelings are never considered, and the other person doesn't feel anything or anyone is important except what they want to do. I do not wait for these type of people. I go ahead with our plans, and tell them to meet up with us if they ever get done with what they were doing. It isn't very hard to be prompt, so I have no patients with these selfish personalities!

Everybody.

I'll wait twenty minutes and no longer, saying so up front, regardless what cell call might come in, short of an emergency, with an apology or explanation.

Learning a little patience never hurt anyone. It depends on the situation though.

I think its terribly rude!

I don't like having to wait for someone to pick me up.
I'd rather drive my own car.

I also don't like when I'm picking up people, and they make me wait while they put on their make-up. I had to prepare earlier just so I can pick HER up on time. I waited for her like 30 minutes....IN MY CAR!!!
I had to pray for patience :D
