Are you happy with the way your life is going? Do you feel fulfilled? Are you an atheist by default because you don't know where else you fit or do you really not believe in any god? Unfortunately, not all street missionaries have a good approach when it comes to presenting the topic of Jesus and redemption. I have a recommendation for you but only try it if you can give it a sincere effort. Examine your life - who are you, do you have a purpose? This may take some time and a couple of attempts. If you come up with nothing, then you've lost nothing. On the flip side, if you discover that you have a desire to know more, pray a simple prayer to God asking exactly that. God already made contact with you through the street missionaries and now through everyone that has posted a reponse to your question. He is waiting to hear from you and we are all praying for you.

All this stuff about inviting Jesus into your heart as Saviour is a load of Grade 2 bullshit. Which would you rather have as a guardian angel: (a) a televangelist in a charcoal grey suit who invited Jesus into his heart as Saviour and now takes it on himself to come into your living room on the Yank Time Mediaeval Shouting Gospel Hour and demands that you hand over some money or (b) a little old lady who comes round for a chat and brings a fruitcake [1] when your arthritis is playing up?
Look. Becoming an angel is like any other promotion. Make sure you are doing the job that you want to be promoted to, and the promotion will follow. So help old ladies across roads, buy sandwiches in the local Fa$tbuck$ and give them to the tramps begging on the street, and bake a fruitcake and take it to a friend whose arthritis is playing up. God tells you to sell all that you have and give to the poor, and he also tells you to visit the sick and those in prison, so do that as well.
[1] The fruitcake is not the televangelist who believes all this bullshit about inviting Jesus into your heart as Saviour. The fruitcake is a sort of yummy baked thing.

Of course nothing will happen. the way they answered to you is just craps.. even they don't know what's the truth. You urself should look for the truth by seeking knowledge, don't just follow blindly what others said and being stupid.. check and verify all the 'evidences' (especially the reliability and authenticity) that people show you..

I can't tell if this is a real thing or if you're just being a smart @ss. Jesus isn't some good luck charm or magic lamp. You have to genuinely open yourself to Him and He'll come to you. But don't treat what people believe in like some kind of joke or game. That just shows how small you really are.

You very well may. Accepting Jesus , isn't just words- you have to be honest. You didn't truely ask for forgivness, and deside in your heart , that you wanted to turn your life over to Christ completely, or a change in you would be perfectly evident, not only to yourself , but to all who know you. God will not be mocked- and He knows your heart!

Didn't do anything for me either.
To a previous poster: I did ask, I prayed, I read the Bible, I went to church and felt nothing but doubts, confusion and then serious disbelief. Just didn't happen for me.

Well you've just proven that anybody who tells you all you have to do is ask Jesus in your heart, is a liar. What is your next experiment?

Probably. There's more to it than that. First, recognize you are a sinner. Realize there is a punishment for sin.......hell. Have repentence for your sins and believe that Jesus paid your punishment to redeem you. When all that happens, THEN try asking Him to be your personal Savior. You'll find out.

Well, I'm not a Christian, but I'm curious about what it was that you were expecting to happen?
Did the two Christians tell you that something in particular would happen, and then it didn't?
If so, how did they react to that? Probably just told you to "wait, jesus will manifest himself in your heart, give it time, you'll feel it." right?

Absolutely nothing is what you would expect to happen if no gods actually exist in reality. It seems the hypothesis that 'No Gods Exist' is consistent with reality.
