The first revelation of Allah through the angel Gabriel to Muhammad (PBUH) was the word "Iqra" which means "Read" in Surah 96:1-5. As he was illiterate he replied: "I cannot read."
This first revelation was prophesied in Isaiah 29:12:
"And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee and he saith, I am not learned."
This prophecy seems as clear as anything that is clear. What do you think?

Bible Has been altered, but that doesn't mean it does not contain the word of God..And these are the words that are aligned with the Qur'an.
The following two verses of the Quran address this issue.
And, behold, among the followers of earlier revelation there are indeed such as [truly] believe in God, and in that which has been bestowed from on high upon you as well as in that which has been bestowed upon them. Standing in awe of God, they do not barter away God's messages for a trifling gain. They shall have their reward with their Sustainer - for, behold, God is swift in reckoning!
And, behold, there are indeed some among them who distort the bible with their tongues, so as to make you think that [what they say] is from the bible, the while it is not from the bible; and who say, "This is from God," while it is not from God: and thus do they tell untruths about God, being well aware.

If you claim to follow the prophet of Isaiah 29 you should read Isaiah 29...This prophet was blinded by God.
While Muhammad clearly had no spiritual understanding.. I sereously doubt you would want to admit you follow a prophet who was blinded by God and could not underrstand God's word and prophesies.
Isa 29:10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
Edit
If you claim the Bible is corrupt how then can you claim your Allah uses corrupt text to anounce your prophet?
Claiming that the Bible is corrupt is a insult to your Allah who claims this is his word and his word can not be changed,
The Qu'ran says that it verifys the Bible.
The Qu'ran says do not doubt and if you have a problem to ask the people of the book.
The Qu'ran says to say to the people of the book we agree with the revelation handed down to you...How can you say this if the book is corrupt?

Dear Tom,
Is that the same Bible the Muslims say it was edited! corrupted, and some even say it has filth in it!!
If so, why that was not edited out!
Sorry man, No, but if that makes you feel good that you need the Bible to give credit to your religion. Then, go ahead, believe what you wish.
Edit,
Dear Tom,
We can post quotes from the Bible and the Quran, but that is not the point. Unless you have the first copy of the Bible! you can't tell anyone what is or was in the Bible. If you chose to use the Bible to show it did prophesied about your religion! then, do not claim it was edited. why didn't they take out something like that!. Think about it.
This is just logic. Christians don't believe the Quran. If so, why would they leave anything that would speak for it! Don't you think that would have been...as the Muslims would like to say! Edited! just logic.
That is what I think.
Happy New Year to one and ALL

Well, you can take Scripture out of context, I would suggest reading the entire passage. Check this out...
Isa 29:11-14
11 This vision is like the words of a book that is closed and sealed. You may give the book to someone who can read and tell that person to read it. But he will say, "I can't read the book, because it is sealed." 12 Or you may give the book to someone who cannot read and tell him to read it. But he will say, "I don't know how to read."
13 The Lord says:
"These people say they love me;
they show honor to me with words,
but their hearts are far from me.
The honor they show me
is nothing but human rules.
14 So I will continue to amaze these people
by doing more and more miracles.
Their wise men will lose their wisdom; NCV
The only thing that can interpret the Holy Bible are Scriptures from the Holy Bible and the Holy Spirit. No other book has the answers. Period.

Isaiah was literate ....the book was sealed...that is why he could not read it......
look at the verse before it......
Isa 29:11 ¶ And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which [men] deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it [is] sealed:
the reason is then given why people can read and not understand ( they say they are not learned but it is because they have closed their hearts to the truth):
Isa 29:12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
Isa 29:13 ¶ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near [me] with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
this passage has nothing to do with Mohammed...it is a passage about spiritual blindness...that people who refuse to see the truth...end up in darkness of mind...they stagger around like they understand nothing...

Let's assume for a minute that you are correct.
Now let's read the next verse:
13 The Lord says:
"These people come near to me with their mouth
and honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
Their worship of me
is made up only of rules taught by men.
Therefore, if what you say is true the Bible predicted it would come and would teach rules taught by men, not God.
People would honor me with their lips but not their heart.
So its predicting a book filled with the teaching of men not the teaching of God.
You really should read the whole chapter.

No - the Koran was not prophesied in the Bible, and no matter how much you'd like to believe that and keep saying it does not make it true.
According to "Eerdman's Handbook to the Bible(1973), that passage means:
"God's word to his people has become a closed book, because they pay him only lip-service (11-16). But the day is coming (17ff) when those who are deaf and blind to his message will hear and see, when God's people will once again fear and obey him."
If you are going to quote the bible, then you must believe what it says, but Muslims don't -- they say the bible has been corrupted. You cannot have it both ways- if it is corrupted then it doesn't matter what it says. If it is NOT corrupted and you're going to quote it to try and prove a point, then it IS valid and means what it says and Islam is a false religion.

There are zero true prophecies in the bible, zero. In order for it to be considered a prophecy it would have to have a date associated with it. Since none of them do, they are not propecies. All the statements are vague and can be applied to many different situations in history. They are that broad ON PURPOSE so as to appear true when in reality they are not.

i believe that when the Qu'ran said that the bible was 'corrupted'-it does not necessarily mean that full bible text was.. no contradictions at all--- if you can manage to read the qu'ran and the bible and be open-minded, then you will notice the discrepancies of SOME of the texts in the bible especially the book of PAUL.. as for the old testament, some of it is still preserved--like the stories of Noah, Moses, book of genesis, etc.
---God gave us brains--for us to figure things out...
anyways, i was a Christian for 22 years of my life and i believe in the Qu'ran.

I think muhammad (pos) was a pervert and likely possessed by satan when he invented islam and allah.
Allah is a false god and an invention. He was invented by a child molester (muhammad).
What is clear is that Islam is ALL about murder, deceit, lies, deception, violence, killing and NOT about peace in the least.
Islam is EVIL and must be destroyed. It is a danger to civilization and only idiots and fools follow it.
Muslims: stop looking for support in the Bible! It's NOT there. Your "religion" is false and evil.
