will a ps3 game play on ps2?

i can't find pro evolution 2008 for ps2 so i'm thinking to get the ps3 version...it should work right?

NO. PS3 games will not work with the PS2. The PS2 uses DVD's for it's games, the PS3 uses Blu-Ray DVD's for it's games. The PS2 doesn't have a Blu-Ray drive and will NEVER play PS3 games.

No, PS3 games are on Bluray format, and the PS2 only reads DVD format, thus it doesnt work...its the other way around!
