Hell, I'd like to make a few people disappear too--this isn't like real life where kicking them in the head makes them go away--what does the "report it" button do?

Why did yahoo automatically place this in the religion section?

If you open your mind - you will not find any questions you disagree with.
Only other opinions.

I'm not a master and in fact I'm very new. But I've been reporting and I have found that the report feature works very well. Just be sure that you are familiar with the community guidelines first (there is a link to the community guidelines that followups up after you click the report button) so that you don't make a report that is in error.

Essentially, the two most common things you will find that are easy to report on are for chatting and being insulting. It's okay to have a strong opinion about something - it's not okay to be insulting when expressing it. This works for answers and questions.

If a member gets reported often enough and by a number of members, his account will go under review for possible removal.

Also, I myself have been reported for "chatting" - this was because I used another members name in a question, so that too is reportable.

If someone is being insulting, the best thing to do is to report them, the more that participate in reporting, the more effective this works.

Ask semper fi stillborn and his good buddy insert_nickname_here I do wish the ones like them would disappear . The report button ? I would assume it sends a email to a lazy illiterate who can't hold down a real job giving the URL of the question or answer the report is made on and after scratching their butt and picking their nose the bum clicks a link that deletes that item and automatically sends you a email form letter at least that is the way I see it from what has happened to me !

Your a very intelligent person, to having just joined the answers forum to pose your query.. Whether you agree with a question or not is not the important thing.. Whats important is that you honor the rights and privilege of being ALLOWED to participate, in the FORUM.. That sounds Boorish, but its only fair to everyone on Yahoo Answers, not to be offended by foul language, insensitive posts, or crude, and abusive subjects.. You'll find out you can learn alot at Answers, engage in posts of knowledge, information or even a laugh or two.. Let me be the first to welcome you to Answers, and I hope your stay is long and enjoyable.. Oh, and if you think a question is offensive or inappropriate,, Hit the report button... If you need more information,, refer to COMMUNITY GUIDELINES... HAVE FUN!!!! SOLOMON

Your roar must not be too convincing if you cannot handle a simple question. You are not required to answer you know! If you don't like a particular question, simply move on to the next one. That's what I do. The Mad Woman in the Attic is absolutely correct! I may disagree totally with what YOU say but I would die for your right to say it. Please extend everyone else the same courtesy.

Why would you want too are you the only one allowed an opinion? Are you all wise and all knowing so that anyone who disagrees with you is wrong?

What ever happened to: 'I disagree with everything you say but I'll die for your right to say it.' ?
If we silenced all opinions contrary to our own what would be the point of YA?
Far too much reporting goes on and I don't think anyone monitors the reporting.

What does the report it button do? Hence the words, it reports them... Although reporting for a non-offense may make them ignore your reports in the future.

I just ignore it. Some people report it. When you press that button, a field pops up, and you fill it out as best you can. Then the censors do what they want to.

You use the report button. I myself don't use it often, but have had the experience of having it used on me.
