I think not since, as you say, it happens pretty frequently.

Rev 6-12
[12] And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
Acts 2-20
[19] And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
[20] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
Two verses refer to the moon as blood, in Revelations there is an event that follows before the moon turns to blood a big earthquake the answer to your question is really no because there hasnt been a great earthquake to cause such conditions to blacken the sun or to distort the moon in such a way.
But to really answer your question I really beleive the
interpretation is the veiw of the moon through smoke particulates in the air emitting from a great earthquake.
25 years ago I saw the moon in the horizon blood red as
the particulates are more concentrated in a horizontal
veiw in the sky rather than a more vertical veiw in the sky.
Its simply pollution that we see now from fossil fuels etc...now.
I really feel that when the end comes near it will be a catostrophic event an earthquake maybe from a nuclear
event or comet or simply a huge volcano.
We will definetely know for sure as the bible seems to lean more to the earth giving off smoke and being totally restless
as the end comes near.

No.
The moon appears red almost once a month.
In fact when I was in Modesto on Xmas eve this year (two days ago) the moon was read from about 6pm-7:30ish.
The red color has to do with the Moon's angular position to the earth with respect to the sun. If it is really near a 180º, the sun's rays shine through the Earthly atmosphere. The atmosphere then augments all wavelengths of light except for those close to red (i.e. 700 nanometers) which is what is then sent to the moon.
It's an illusion.

Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Yes they are for signs.
Now this one is a metaphor
Joe 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
the sun is symbolic of Christ the WORD.
moon is always of Satan
Satan comes eclipsing blocking the light of truth "before the great and terrible day of the LORD.

Actually, it says that the moon "became like blood.". It is not talking about its color, else it would have said "red as blood".
A red moon is quite common these days.
