I just got mine done tonight and I had heard everything from 'it doesn't hurt at all' to 'it's the worse pain ever', so I was really scared, but I was actually shocked by how little it hurt. I would say 2, 3 at the max. It's about the same as getting your cartilege pierced, and it's over quickly.

Don't get the gun though, it hurts less initially but it causes more trauma to the tissue since the stud is more blunt, and ultimately takes longer to heal.

The way he did mine was he had a clamp with a triangular hold in the middle and held my nostril with the clamp, and slid the needle through. I was genuinely shocked with how much it didn't hurt, the anticipation was way worse. So don't be too scared, it's over in a second!!

i have gotten my nose pierced when i was sixteen. i got it done in Queens for little money. The man that pierced my nose used a gun. it was 1, 2, 3. it didn't hurt much. i guess if your going to do it with a needle then that i bet could be worse. when i went to school the next day, everyone was saying how it fit me well. i felt so proud of my nose ring until one day, this annoying boy told me it looked like a burgher. i didn't pay him any attention, because i am cute and he wasn't.

about a 7. But it's over quickly. Only problems is it stays sore for a while and it's uncomfortable to sleep until the soreness goes away.

Each person's tolerance of pain is different. For me, when I first had it done it hurt at 7.5 for two days. After two days, it wasn't that bad. It was about 2.
