If you are talking about a non-alcoholic root beer float, then you put a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream in a tall glass, then SLOWLY add root beer to the top of the glass. There will be foam, but it will reduce down if you wait a minute. I usually can't wait, and slurp the foam off the top, then add more root beer. Yum!

I have no idea if this would actually work, but maybe try pouring in some root beer first... then put in the ice cream. you will get a little foam when you pour in the root beer, but nothing like when there is already ice cream in the glass. good luck!

I pour the glass half full of root beer and then add the ice cream. Then tilt the glass slightly and pour the remainder down the inside of the glass. You will get a little foam, but not that much.

The more slowly you pour the root beer, the less foam you'll get, although a little foam is just part of the drink.
Try pouring against the wall of the glass instead of over the ice cream itself.

Hmmm........good question. Maybe you could try pouring the rootbeer in the glass and then put in the vanilla ice cream. Just be sure not to fill the glass too full either way
