I was just skimming and answering some funny questions but seriously I would choose one of the animals because they could observe everything going on basically without being bothered or noticed too much. Everyone else had a role to play and I assume came and went on a divine schedule of some kind but the animals just were.

Well, I won't say Jesus BC that's sacreligious. Maybe one of the 3 wisemen or the drummer boy. I don't want to be a donkey. Especially if I were the bottom half of the donkey suit.
