Last night I had a fight with my girlfriend and today she hasnt phoned and isnt returning my e-mails. Am I being taught a lesson or has she silently ended us.

Sometimes, a woman needs time to cool off and reflect on what happened. If you are at fault, even partially, it may be wise to apologize for causing any problem. That doesn't mean that you are wrong, it means that you are more interested in keeping things together!
Life is too short to let arguments keep people apart. There is enough hatred, don't let her stay mad at you.
Write a short/sweet note on colored stationary asking for her to meet you for coffee. Don't dwell on what happened that night, but on how important she is to you. Then, she will understand how much she means to you and will reconsider the "quiet treatment". This may be the perfect time to show her your strong character and integrity. You don't win anything if you let her get away. Do what you have to in order to keep things together.

Depends whether she has acted like this before, and it also depends what the argument was about.
If you did something bad on Christmas Day there is a chance it may be over.

she's most like;y trying to teach you a lesson. send her flowers to her job with a little apology note. then go to her face to face and apologize.
