Surprisingly, champagne is generally not consumed in great quantities. It is usually reserved for the "toasting." Most people will drink their other "favorites" (beer, wine, mixed) for their "normal" alcohol consumption. It's rare for a person to solely drink champagne as their choice of drink... and enough so as to become drunk.

And remember...

1-champagne is a wine, so it's alcohol content is the same as for wines.
2- it takes the body 1 hour for it to "eliminate" the affects of only one drink. But that doesn't mean that a person who has drunken 5 beers is sober 1 hour after the ending of his/her consumption of the 5th drink!

Sorry... I just finished an online "Driver Safety Course" section on alcohol and DUI... so I'm all freshly full of stats and info on it!

Have a delightful day.

Forget alcohol!
People have to drive home and driving drunk is dangerous.
