I've always liked garden gnomes.

I can't say that i know of many religious ornaments other than angels and whatnot.
But my final answer is no, i truthfully can not appreciate any lawn ornaments; unless they are flamingos, those are just too funny.

yep, if they are truly artful. The oppsite is also true. I am catholic, but not all Catholic art is good. The whole "Mary in the bathtub" lawn ornament is weird and very redneck. You know the ones, it looks like a bathtub standing on end, with one end buried in the ground and a statue of Mary standing in it.
My dad calls them "Mary on the half-shell"

You be careful using the term "lawn ornament" unless you're sure you've earned the right to use it.
It's seen as highly offensive in some quarters, except amongst very good friends where it can be a term of endearment.

Lawn ornaments are tacky eyesores. Describing them as artful is pretty much an abomination against art.

I am not a fan of lawn ornaments altogether.......what religion are those creepy little knomes associated with? Worse yet, all those pink flamingos?

I see art as a very human thing, not religious based, even if made on behalf of a belief. I don't care for pink flamingos though.

Yes, a neighbor has a very nice little statue of Mary in her front yard.
She looks very peaceful and serene, a nice lady for sure.
And a Buddha or two are nice.
But whatever religion it is that dresses up geese is NOT COOL. Any religion that requires animals to be dressed up is NOT COOL.

Mary in the bathtub makes me nervous. Can't understand it really. But the little gnomes from hell are truly jitter-making! Don't like passing them in the dark! And whoever came up with gargoyles on anything is truly depraved!
