Does it always have to go into the muscle, or can it go into your backside?

Either... your backside is actually made up of muscles. So injecting it into the correct area of your backside would actually involve injecting it into one of the gluteus muscles, where it would be absorbed into the blood in a similar manner to if you injected it into another muscle.
