Assuming that the $5000 is from a job, not from self-employment, you should get the whole $300 refunded to you. You should also get an earned income credit of around $1709 if your dependent is your qualifying child, otherwise $384.

Depending on what your dependent is you may or may not be eligible for EIC and CTC. In any case if your income is from W-2 wages and you only made 5,000 then you will get your 300 withheld back plus $ 381 if you are single and between ages 25 and 65.
