Hi m'oBscene Romance. No matter what race, creed or colour people are, they all have some form of faith even if they don't want to believe it. I have often heard friends who call themselves "atheist" say "oh for Gods sake, help me out of this" and yet they don't believe in God, but their asking for his help.
There are many forms of religion including that of Satanism. No matter how we deny our faith, we can show it in many different ways. As I have said in my previous answers, I am not a regular church goer, but I whole God is in my heart every day and take time out to talk to him. I also speak to God through my music as he gave me the voice in which to sing, I have a karaoke player set up in my study and this time of the year I sing every Christmas carol known to me. The rest of the year, I just want God to listen to the voice he gave me and I hope it brings him as much pleasure as it does me. It is my belief that people who pretend not to believe do express their inner feelings, but may be not from your list above. People have the right to express their thoughts in any manner in which God has given them, but I doubt if he would appreciate drugs and alcohol. But you never know, God is so wiling to listen and forgive anyone, anytime and anywhere. Best wishes. Peter

It's true that anybody could do these things but there's a difference: what I've thought up is that those things provide DISTRACTION to ppl w/ no sprituality but for ppl who are in touch w/ their spirituality, it is an EXPRESSION(i don't mean the drugs lol).

I think, religious or not, you can express yourself through these mediums.
However, as an atheist, I would say I find a lot of meaning in art, music, literature etc that perhaps replaces any need I would feel for a God.

Sounds to me like your teacher is the person who needs to get an education, he can't sprout generalisations like that and label people.
Not very christian to label people the same. Just because someone doesn't share anothers beliefs doen't make them wrong, no matter what religion or belief you hold, it is as valid as the next persons.

No. I am not religious, I have never taken drugs, rarely drink but do listen to music.
An aquaintence of mine who attends church every week, regularly takes drugs, gets pissed several times a week and is a mess...
Sort of blows your theory out of the (holy) water...
