There are things to look for to guess at age:

1. The cere - this starts to change from the baby colour to the adult colour anywhere from 3 months of age to 8 months, depending on if the bird is kept in a flock or alone.

2. the eyes - baby budgies have all black eyes which gain an iris ring (white ring) at around the 6 month mark. Keep in mind that some varieties of budgies keep the all black eyes for life. Your bird is not one of these.

3 the bars - very young birds have black bar all the way to their ceres, this starts to moult out from about the 3 month mark.

Once the bird has lost it's bars, got the adult coloured cere and iris rings it's hard to pin point an age.

Now your bird still has the baby pink of a male which no signs of starting to change and the baby black eyes I would mark him around the 5 month age gap. The lost of the bars means he will start to moult soon into his adult feathers as well.

and although you didn't ask he is a type if Dominant pied commonly called Clear flight pied.

That bird looks very young to me, probably only a few month old. Did you just get the bird? he looks really nervous in the first pic, a little better in the other one. I guess he is a bit "picture-shy":).
Very cute.

He looks to be around 5 months old, he still has most of the bars on his head. Another way to tell is to look at the eyes.

Younger birds have striped around (and on) their forehead. Older birds lose these stripes. I'd say your parakeet is around half a year old, maybe a bit younger, but don't take my word for it, looking at a bird doesn't tell how old it is. The stripes just give you an idea of how old it is. :-)

Lia you know nothing, obviously. He looks older than 8 months old. When they have no stripes on his forhead it means he's older than 8 months.
