No. Tattoos are drawn on the body, not on the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7
...the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

What possible reason could you have for doing that? If you had a tattoo when you became a Christian, did that make you less of one? If not, what difference would it make to have it removed except to disfigure your body with a very ugly scar?

Well, from what a christian friend once told me, that tattoos are considered sins because you are willingly mutilating your own body (i dont agree that its mutilation... but im quoting here!)
I would think that removal would be furthering the mulitation since a laser burns it off (or something like that)
Well, I am a non-believer, so I'm not worried about my tattoos!

No I dont think so. I have loads of them since I was a sailor for 32 years. God has forgiven me for these sins as well as a multitude of others. As Schneb has wisely quipped ,they are on the tent not the heart . ( well said Sir) My Tattoos remind me that even though sins can be forgiven there are still always consequences for sin. Thank you Lord Jesus! God looks on the heart not the skin.
1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

Why else would you have a tattoo removed? And what does being Christian have to do with it?

What would be the point? If it's a tattoo of Muhammad or the devil it might be a good idea. Otherwise, leave it be.

According to Leviticus people with tats are as bad as gays. It kills me whenever I see some homophobe with a tattoo of jesus spouting anti gay rhetoric.
