In the first place, I don't believe you and in the second place, it is not wrong in itself. Other factors should be considered, and in the third place, if anyone works for me , I don't need anyone else's opinon, or permission to fire him.

Yes it was wrong!! Have YOU ever done anything in the past that someone would disagree with? Would you want to lose your job over it? It was 10 years ago and you have no idea why she chose to work there. Even if she did it because she wanted to it was in the past and I seriously doubt she was giving lap dances at work or sliding up and down a pole. It's people like you that gives Christianity a bad name!

That's really not right. She could have completely changed her life and you have judged her based on ten years ago. Is your past so lily-white?
PS "at will" doesn't mean anything if you went afoul of the law as it is written in your state. I think you should get a lawyer not only for this situation but so that you understand your responsibilities as an employer. And then ask forgiveness for your judgement of her.

Heck, if I could make some money, I would take my clothes off and dance around. Unfortunately for me, the way I look, my drawers would probably start drooping from the pennies that the folks put in my g-string. So, to answer your question, you did something "immoral" to satisfy your "morality". I like ethics so much better than the religious term "morals". Ethics remain constant, and morality changes with the hemline. Or hymnline, perhaps.

If she was doing her job well, if her current lifestyle did not bring unwanted attention to the company and if she was pleasant to be around and good with her fellow employees yes it was wrong.
I find it amazing that with ~some~ christians they will hold onto something and keep judging long afterwards. I thought you were supposed to forgive. Have you looked in the mirror yet for your own imperfections?

If you are a Christian then you did an awful thing. If she has turned her life in a different direction to God if you will, then she deserves grace from you. If God has forgiven her, you must as well. If in fact you are a Christian, and I kind of doubt it, you really blew this one.
ADD:
CattBarf, I'm pretty sure this guy is an atheist, posing as a Christian. No one I know would be like that!

That was dumb. No, a Christian would not fire her for something she did 10 years ago. She can probably sue you

You can hardly call yourself a Christian if you are so judgmental that you'd fire someone for something that they did 10 years ago that you find offensive.

You made a pretty big mistake there. That would be illegal on your part. If you indeed did fire her already, I would consult a lawyer post haste.
Be prepared. If she brings charges, you may not have a leg to stand on.
That is called "discrimination."
Good luck
edit: the "at-will" or "right to work" has no bearing on this. If she gets wind of your discrimination, you've got problems.
If I knew her name, I'd tell her myself.

Totally wrong of you...if you are a Christian, and she was not doing harm to your business, then you were wrong. Were is your forgiveness that Jesus commanded you to live out as an example?
How about Jesus throws your butt out of heaven because of your past?
Either practice what you profess or do not profess your christianity...
Hell...even atheists can see through you false profession of faith...
