Digital camera, no polarized lens or way to alter shutter speed. Want to take a "frozen water" picture with small sony, HOW?? Any general tips/tricks for digital camera??

Try the sports mode if your camera has one. That should produce a fast shutter speed to aid in freezing the water. Otherwise, if there is no way to alter the shutter speed, you will have to try on a bright day in the sun to get fast enough to freeze water droplets.

The opposite effect, the "silky" water will be harder to achieve with no way to set a timed exposure.

Since you can't alter the shutter speed, have you tried using the flash? That usually "freezes" action pretty well. Good luck.
