I got what looked like an insect bite on my left knee a few weeks ago. It got quite sore but once it burst I thought nothing of it. A few days later both legs became really itchy, but no redness or spots or anything... until about a week later I got what looked like another insect bite on my right leg, and then a string of little red dots on my thigh. I went to the doctor and she said I have a contagious skin infection, but it could be contained to my legs and treated with antibiotics and cream. That was a week ago and I'm itchy all over and have just got a few of these spots on my face! I'm so worried, the medication hasn't worked at all and its spreading. I dont even know the name of the infection, but my friend had it recently and her doctor told her to scrub the spots (to break them) with a nail brush and hot water. I've tried this but no luck. Has anyone here experienced this? I'm getting so worried now, and its very annoying having to wash all my clothes at 90°. Please help!

I have been to the doctor and will go back again, I'm just trying to find people who have had the same problem and I'm wondering how they dealt with it and how long it took to go away. Thanks

See the doctor, you might have a staph infection or developed and allergy. Whatever you do, don't pick at it unless you want infections and scarring. Try taking some benadryl or other allergy medicine. Calamine lotion might help.

Please see a dermatologist. I have had a similar experience within the last two months however it started on the palms of my hands and soles of my feet. I have been to the doctor twice, to a dermatologist twice with a 3rd visit planned. I lost the first layer of skin completely off my hands and feet, and now I have red bumps (not itchy) on my legs and arms. I've been putting up with this since the first week of November. Best of luck to you!

I haven't had the same problem. However, skin rash information can be found below.

I'd see a dermatologist, sounds like your doctor was guessing.

sounds like scabies or body lice. Try another round of meds. and treat the whole family.
