The wedding band goes on first. But during the ceremony you can keep your engagement ring on and have him put the wedding ring on. Then switch it before the reception.
OR- have a bridesmaid hold your engagement ring till after the ceremony.

The wedding band goes on first. I have heard the argument that you got the engagement first,but, the band is supposed to be closest to your heart. The engagement ring is with the intent to marry, the band means, you're married.

Well the jeweller I went to made my engagement ring bigger than my wedding ring - I have to wear my engagement ring first then the wedding ring holds it on!
