I don't mean KNOW and institutionalized FAITHS (such as Judaism, Christianity, Islam etc...)
but MODERN-DAY religions such as
HUMANISM (man is the center of Universe)
ECOLOGY (environment is more important than the Law or human life)
COMMODITY (or "comfort - a baby's life is more important than the mother's carrier and comfort)
etc...

I would agree that the most mainstream "Western" religion is Capitalism and the religion of I-want-it-all-now! Unfortunately, this modern-day "religion" doesn't re-connect people with God... so (by definition) it is therefore not "religion". (See linguistic roots of "religion" in a dictionary.)
There are many examples of modern-day revelations (and religion), however, that are truly inspired. This day and age is very much a dichotomy of the very good intermingled with the very bad.
You could say humanity has "ripened" and the "wheat" (or really nourishing "grains") and the tares (plants that, for a long time, looked like real wheat, but in the end don't produce any grain) are almost ready for harvest.

in America, the first modern day religion became the mormon LDS church.
another which followed was the Jehovah witnesses and then the seventh day adventists.
When i grew up there was a cult in Oregan that threatened to take over a city because their voting power was more numerous than the town folks, i forget what they were.
but it made national news all around
everything in christianity, is either a branch of the old system or comes from Europe

From your example of Commodity, it seems you want two things people worship, and not necessarily organized religions (such as Christianity and Hinduism). In this veign, I have to say Consumerism and Humanism.

Do you mean relatively new religions? Well, there is scientology invented in the 1950's by a physican, and Mormonism created in the early 1800's.
If you want more traditional religions there is Christianity and Buddism.

Cargo cults are modern in the sense they have been created relatively recently--in the modern era.
Urantia Book readers in that it is a 20th century creation.
Professional sports in that they serve the function of a religion (but of course have roots in very ancient religions-Olympian competitions, etc.)
What is COMMODITY?
