It's just normal for the PS3 to operate very warm. You don't have to worry about it, just make sure that the PS3 is in an open area so that it gets plenty air flow and you wont have to worry about one thing.

ANy system that has an electric current running through it will get warm... No need to worry about a ps3 overheating though. Its nearly impossible to overheat them. Just like any system make sure it has room to breath. Make sure there is nothing blocking the air vents.

It is basically a computer with a CPU that throws off heat like that in a regular PC. The 'heatsink' in the PS3 includes the chassis of the box.

air circulation u cant leave it in a closed area and leave it running when i play i leave the door thing to the shelf open and it doesn't get hot
