It is good to train daily, but not 7 days a week. You should have off one day.
If you want to run faster you need to stress yourself, by doing either a tempo or interval day once or twice each week.

Doing between 3 and 7 miles each day sounds about right.

Don't know what you mean by improve??? Improve what??

I have to know what you want to improve before I can say one way or the other. Generally, to be able to run distances you should spread your mileage such that you have longer runs and shorter runs. The short runs build you up so you can run the longer ones. Such as:

Day Miles Percentage
1 3 10%
2 6 20%
3 3 10%
4 6 20%
5 3 10%
6 9 30%
7 0 0%
30 100%

Yes, 3x a week is barely maintenance. you need to run 5-6 times a week for improvement.

Good Luck

You didn't mention what distance your training for. If you're trying to improve your mile time or doing CC, then you should be running 5 - 6 days a week. Increase your mileage by about 10% per week.

Running every day is always better than running only a few times a week. It does not sound like you are over working yourself and it looks like you are training well, if you are training for distance races. If you are looking to just improve your sprinting speed, than perhaps you should be doing some shorter stuff.

You maybe over working you body which could led to injury. A better way to improve speed is to run shorter distances faster like shuttle sprints. Another way to improve your speed is to do some hill training running uphill as fast as you can in 10-30 second burts. You can also run uphill backwards to strengthen your legs. I hope this helps.
