Please actually be 13. Otherwise, your question is sad and leads people to believe that you find reading too difficult.

There are a bunch. I got my daughter a "Todays English Version". Some people like the NIV. The old American Standard Version is still very good, though it was done 100 years ago. You should either go to a church and ask an elder, or if you are feeling rich you could go to a big bookstore. There are about 100 translations to choose from and you can get many cheap in paperback to read for awhile to see if you like them.

Go to the local Bible bookstore. They can help you with that.
Funny, when I was 13, all I HAD was the King James Bible, with all its "thees and thous". That is the book I memorized scripture from, and STILL look things up in my OLD KJV Bible, though it is over 50 years old I still treasure it!
I DO use the NKJV Bible today, in church, as that is the one my Pastor uses. I like to follow along!

English Standard Version, Amplified, New Living Translation and New American Standard Bible would be most complementary of today's language.
Although I personally used NIV because so many use it in the Church these days, I'm recommending English Standard Version or Amplified if you just want to read it on your own.

New King James was great for me at that age. The New American Standard might do well. I would lean against the Living Bible or the New International Version.

The 'New world translation of the holy scriptures' is an excellent translation of the Bible. It was translated into modern english. It is published by the watchtower Bible and Tract society of New York, Inc. ask any one of Jehovah's witnesses for a copy. Or you can look it up online.

The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. You can read it online free of charge. You can also ask any of Jehovah's Witnesses for one free of charge. Contrary to what some on this board will say, they are not going to try to "convert" you.
Whichever translation you choose, a direct translation from the original languages is better than a "version", which is often based on interpretation of the writer. May Jehovah God bless your efforts to understand His word better!

I would agree with the New International Version (NIV) recommendation.
You might want to consider the Good News Translation.
Edit: It is not a translation but the Brick Testament is good fun. http://www.thebricktestament.com/

The New Century Version (NCV) or the New Living Translation (NLT). These are both translations from the original manuscripts. If you choose the NLT make sure it's the translation and not the New Living Bible (paraphase.)
I tend to stay away from paraphrases. (Personal choice.)
Both NCV and NLT, are easy to read, understand and apply.
Hope that helps!
Happy New Year!!!

The NIV is absolutely the better choice. It reads on about an 8th grade level, and if you need to go deeper later you will be in good shape.
