My belief is that it is the responsibility for all members of our species who enjoy creature comforts to provide whatever is necessary that will help those less fortunate. Especially in the global nations that suffer from drought, military atrocity, lack of health care, and severe hunger. We can't take our assets with us when we die, and if we live affluently, then the next generation does not need the surplus assets we have accumulated.

We first need to come to an understanding of what "all of humanity praying for peace" is. All faiths do this, but some mean different things. Mostly it is aimed at all the world following thier belief system. Some hold that this would mean praying for the death of anyone who does not, thus achieving the desired peace. Same thing with the going over to the neighbor thing. If you are going over to the neighbor to offer peace and they reject, does that mean you bring them the peace of the grave?
Contrary to what most think, it is not religion that is the root of evil, it is interests. If my interest runs counter to another, then there will be conflict. We may dress it up in religion, nationalism, ethnicity, economic philosophy, or whatever, but the end result is the same. People engage in conflicts over what is in their best interests.
This will continue until there are no longer conflicting interests. An end to so many parts of what makes up our world I find it difficult to see how it could be achieved. Conflicts around natural resources will end when these resources ar no longer scarce. Conflicts between religious systems (or within systems) when the issues at hand are resolved through reason and diologue. And so forth.
Could it happen? I hold out hope that it will. Perhaps not in my lifetime. Perhaps not even until Christ returns. But in the meantime, I can still work toward it.

For all humanity to walk over to their neighbor and greet them and wish peace upon them and help them with whatever it is they might need help with for if we each do this for our neighbor we will receive what we send out ... eventually this will lead to peace for all humanity for we are all part of God.

Well, I, for one, will NEVER pray to any god, because I only believe that god is nothing more than dog spelled backwards.
So that idea would NEVER fly, because I am certain that there are others with this belief.
You would more than likely have a better chance to ask neighbors to greet each other, wish each other peace, and offer to help each other..

Easily the 2nd, but I'm not religious so I don't think tha first would do anything. But even somewho who does believe that parying has an effect would say the second one as well- as we are meant to be 'God's hands'.
On the other hand, if we all prayed for peace, it must do some good because it shows that everyone wants peace. But actions speak louder than words.

Good point, and I think it's both. It's like this old football movie I saw where this player was getting ready to go out on the field and he was in the locker room praying. Well he spent so much time in there, the coach had to go get him and tell him to quit praying because it was time to get in the game. Jesus prayed, but LIVED what He prayed. Christians are supposed to to do the same and it's about time for so many of them to "get in the game" if you know what I mean. Peace.

All of humanity "praying" for peace is like wishing folks a "Merry Christmas" with a brightly colored Hallmark card. Wishing and praying takes no physical effort, assumes that's all that needs to be done, and only leaves the sender with a momentary warm and fuzzy feeling.

Well is it not the same thing, the second is what you would ask anyway, but sorry neither would work.
First of God gave us free will, and that means when we get in to a mess we have to sort it out, and second man is full of greed, and self pity to go over to his neighbour who in some cases would pull a knife on you and tell you to pi** off. Yes I know not everybody is like that, but things won't improve until we accept ourselves for what we are, and to be able to understand the sort of things you say in part two, so we can leave God out of it, we have to sort out ourselves first.

Peace is where justice and charity harmonize.
We need God (who is love) to open our souls, minds, and hearts to loving. This isn't as easy as it sounds either!!! Without God (love) leading the way, we cannot truly grasp how to find harmony with justice and charity.
It is after we accept the presence of love (God) into our inner most being is when we can take baby steps like greeting our neighbors and blessing them with peace. It takes many baby-steps ... and many ppl to take the baby steps to see the fruit of love manifesting itself.

God hasn't answered anyone's prayers for peace yet. I think he's had enough of a chance.
Extending the hand of friendship and mutual aid is always a better way of promoting peace.
How many people here actually know their neighbors and are welcome in their homes? Taking it literally, I mean the people who live right next to you.
