"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."

i only know of one religion who "not do any work" on saturday and "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy" (judiasm) but other religions follow the old testtement so what happened to this comandment?

**hasse_john- thats my point, how can a religion claim to folow the old testement and "throw out laws" that they choose, or eat pork, it says pretty clearly dont do x, and it seems all other religions besides judiasm ignore the old tetstement and do x. (x is a varaible refereing to the numerous prohibitions)

so pretty much, a small minority of christians still follow what g-d commanded them too, and the rest either listened to jesus and the church who claimed g-d, changed his mind and didnt want you to follow certain laws, instead just read about it and quote it, or indepently deicded its either too hard or unessecery?

No man may change a law of the G-d of Israel for His people.

Shabbat was created, among other reasons, to stand as a sign to the world of who were His people Israel. We are told to rest from our labors and delight in the L-RD, even the guests, the servants and the working animals of the household.

It seems to be an extremely important issue with G-d because it is mentioned SO often and with such specific rules of observance.

The muslim sabbath is Friday. Pagan sabbats are not the same as the weekly/high sabbaths of Israel and have no code of law surrounding their observances.

I am always told that Christians chose Sunday, the first day of the week, because Jesus supposedly was raised from the dead Sunday morning (don't know how that cancels out the sabbath of the seventh day of the week...lots of rationalization there, in my opinion.)

You are redefining the issue.

You cannot be held to the conditions of a covenant you were never a party to, or a covenant that has ended. It isn't about God changing His mind. That covenant was for a specific people for a specific period of time; until the coming of the promised one:

Galatians 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

You have been deceived.

Nothing, there are those of us who still keep ALL 10 of the commandments. But, for most 'Christians' they chose to 'keep' the Catholic Sun's- day of worship. So, if you would know if a 'religion' is a 'Bible and the Bible only' religion, just ask 'them which day do you hold a holy, the first day or the seventh day?' and you will have a good idea of which side they might be on. Of course there is NO substitute for your own, personal study of the Scriptures. This way you will show yourself approved of God, a workman not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the truth.

I must inform you many have forgotten the day to remember. There are those of us like Jews among the protestant religions that honor it by no work as a whole. Some like us the Adventists who learned it in the 1800's and some like seventhday baptist who came to America in the 1500's. I think before Christ comes back many more may have understanding why they must remember this blessed day. Keep praying for the sheep and little lambs of Christendom that they may hear the Shepard calling......

I think most religions have a 'holy day' that is kept sacred. The New Testament states more than once that the 'old ways are passed away and all things are new'. Jesus himself worked/healed on the Sabbath. He was scorned for it, but He made it known that He was setting new examples and new laws. We are still upholding the old laws, but we as Christians celebrate and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The Catholic church called the Sabbath "Judaising" and outlawed it. The Adventist (Seventh Day) keep the weekly Sabbath after YHVH's order, but ignore the Yearly Sabbaths, and call the Almighty by heathen names. What other religions follow the ole testament? I know of none that don't eat pork, and violate a great host of other guidlines in that book.
