Tv cables?

one got unhooked today, i hooked it on this thing its supposed to be on and theres no place to hook it up,
my internet is hooked up on the cable box and it wasn't working but no i unhooked the cable thing and the internet is working but now no tv whats wrong?

There should be a cable splitter between the cable coming out the wall and your TV box and cable modem, that divides the signal into two, one for each device.
