I think it's a very complex situation that will never be resolved to EVERYONE'S satisfaction.

What is your view on it?

I don't think opening the borders is an option that will work.

Very easy on the radical sides, very difficult as you approach the center.

Deport them all, and amnesty for all are quite easy.

Compromising is a helluva task though.

The solution IS simple. To stop it, the US government MUST eliminate the reason they come here. They come to achieve a better life, or at least an opportunity to earn money. IF our government passed laws that make hiring illegal immigrants economic death for ANY company, then companies WOULD ensure that those they hire ARE legally able to work here. Our government can easily ensure that NO child of ANY illegal immigrant can receive an education. And that NO illegal immigrant can get medical care in the US. As long as being an illegal gets the illegal immigrant a better life, they WILL come.

It's not simple, but not really complex either. It just takes politicians who are willing to do what is right for our country and enforce our laws. My solution.

a) Complete building the proposed fence along the Mexican border; this is essential.
b) Pass H.R. 1940, the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2007, which would end the process of granting automatic birthright citizenship to the babies born in the United States to illegal aliens.
c) Make it a felony with a mandatory minimum sentence of 60 days in prison to be in the U.S. illegally.
d) Keep the National Guard on border patrol duty and let them interdict intruders.
e) New Border Patrol agents must be trained before amnesty is given.
f) Greatly reduce chain immigration and replace it with a merit-based immigration system.
g) Stop providing social services to those who are in this country illegally.
h) Triple the number of ICE agents.
i) End the practice of dual citizenship. You are an American, or you are not!
j) Train all U.S. police officers in how to process illegal aliens by ICE, in the 278 (g) program, and the program must be fully funded.
k) End the practice of cities and states giving sanctuary to illegal aliens by reducing federal government funding to those cities, and by arresting the mayors and governors. Charge them with aiding and abetting illegal immigration.
l) English must be made the official language of the U.S. government, and repeal President Clinton’s Multilingualism Order: http://capwiz.com/ef/issues/alert/?alertid=9323616&type=CO

no longer one rattling component has been resolved. persons are coming in daily. Bush could desire to truly care much less with reference to the problem and that's in simple terms glaring. government and massive company do no longer care. Small clothing that decide to apply illegals are undemanding to make an occasion of. it quite is a complicated concern and the subsequent president that gets elected could have reliable solutions for what we could desire to do.

WE don't have an immigration problem, we have an illegal immigration problem.
The solution is simple, however carrying it out will be difficult.

1) enforce the borders.
2) large fines for those who knowingly hire illegals, with jail time for repeat offender.
2a) require employers to check legal status.
3) check the status of any one arrested and deport any one here illegally.
4) make anyone here illegally wait at least 10 years before allowing them to come legally. (exceptions for minors here with their parents)
If we do all this then employers will be forced to pay more and Americans will do those jobs, and the flow of ILLEGAL immigration will be greatly reduced.

Libs find it to be utterly too complex to ever try to figure it out, so why bother. Cons find it to be too simple to figure out, so why bother. I find it to be a simple matter that people complicate with emotions.
1) make it a federal and state felony to be here illegally
2) get rid of the anchor baby clause (14th)
3) get rid of any government assistance for any non-citizens
4) ask for papers if anyone seems like they might be illegal
5) round up and deport the illegals
5 steps to freedom for the Americans again, is that really that hard?

It does not have to be any more complex than any other country. Oklahoma's 4 part bill that recently took effect is working like a charm. Take that same bill and enact it in all states and we are on our way to a future good for Americans.

It doesn't have to be that complicated. Just enforce the laws. And it only has to be resolved to the satisfaction of the majority of citizens. Illegal aliens should have no say in the matter. No solution outside of unconditional amnesty would please them anyway. They even criticized the immigration reform bill by saying it was too harsh on them. Many had no intentions of taking advantage of it if it passed, saying they'd choose to remain illegal.

The best solution will require the best of democracy, not sound bites and talking heads. It requires compromise. This issues touches every part of our country and is not satisfied with glib answers like "What part of illegal don't you understand?" Nor is simple "amnesty" the solution.

So called anti-illegal immigrant advocates do not have any viable solutions or policies to deal with the nation’s immigration problems. They only have anti-solutions and anti-policies. It’s always easier to oppose something than it is to come together for the common good. This only makes the need even greater for immigrant supporters across the nation to ban together and push sound, reasonable, and beneficial policies in opposition to this noise.

Courage is needed, not cowardice.

We need to demand more from our leaders in Congress than harsh rhetoric and ineffective solutions. Congress needs to fix our immigration system in a smart way, not just throw more money at the problem. For the past twenty years, the Federal government has dramatically increased immigration enforcement and yet, enforcement-alone has not worked to stem undocumented immigration. There are now more than 12 million undocumented immigrants living and working in this country. They are here because our economy is beckoning them and because we do not have a channel for hard-working people to come here legally. Then there is the devastation that this broken system creates: exploited workers, thousands of deaths in the desert, and over three million U.S. citizen children living in constant fear that their parents will be deported.

These problems exist because Congress has ignored reality and failed to update our immigration laws. The vast majority of Americans think that rounding up and deporting 12 million undocumented immigrants is a fantasy and a waste of federal dollars. Furthermore, Americans do not want to wait an estimated 91 years and spend the projected $200 billion it would take, to round undocumented immigrants who are mostly hard-working people. They want real solutions.

Congressional leaders from both parties need to get to work and pass the type of immigration reform legislation that addresses the issue at its root, not ineffective laws that waste resources and offer false promises to the American people.

Good leaders compromise and find reasonable solutions to society's issues. America is waiting.

start shooting once they come across the line. Sooner or later they'll stop or all be dead. Either way problem solved.

Continue the ICE raids and cut off federal funding for any state/local agency the harbors them.

Those pesky canadians... lol.
