Best place in the house? what is this feng shui of breastfeeding?
Where ever you are most comfy. My places were either on the couch or laying in bed.
In bed on my side with the baby on her side.
On the couch, sitting indian style, I had a little pillow that I rested my elbow of the arm that her head rested on. And since I was so top heavy, for a while I put a twisted towel under my breasts to lift them to give her better access so she could latch better. Something the lactation consultant showed me. And don't hold the babies head in the crook of your arm. It should rest more on your fore arm.

A good position for latching on is to place your baby under your arm so that the head is on your breast and the feet are towards your back.
Place a pillow by the side of you so that your baby is lying on it and sit comfortably on the sofa. The baby will be able to latch on easily this way. I found this was the best position for me in the beginning.

Why does a natural thing like breast feeding have to become an exact science. Is there no new mothers who can operate by natural instinct instead of going by the book. Just find whats comfortable and relaxing for you and baby will take care of the rest.

Wherever you are comfortable. I prefered my couch, sitting with my legs crossed (Indian style) and the football hold worked best for my daughter to latch on.
