Plasma!!

It really is very much a personal experience.

LCDs do better in bright rooms where there are sunlit windows or bright lights. Plasmas tend to be heavier, less expensive, and a bit dimmer than LCDs.

Personally, I like the look of LCDs over plasma.

The one that looks better to you is the one to get. You'll get arguments on both sides of this question. If you are watching HDTV both are very good and have about the same life span. If you are gaming you may want to look at getting the LCD, Plasma can suffer burn in ( a ghost image burned into the screen). More important is making sure you get the right setup, at least 2 HDMI, 2 component, and at least 1 composite input, and QAM (digital cable) tuner. and get the biggest you can afford that will fit in the room, the #1 complaint of first time HDTV buyers is they wish they had purchased a larger one.

Plasmas are better for motion and the colors are more accurate. Lcd screens are very bright. It depends on what you watch the most. You can't go wrong with either one though.
