I got out of the Army earlier this year and filed for disability benefits because of an injure that I picked up while I was in. The VA still haven't made a decision yet, but I'm predicting that they will make one in the following month. If they do offer me a percentage, will it still be possible for me to join ROTC or will I have to turn the offer down.

I did not get medically discharge from the Army people. It's normal to file for benefits if you ever got a service connected injure that you think is fit to file for. It's just an ankle injury nothing major.

You cannot e in the military and drawing military disability at the same time. Depending on the situation you could refuse the disability and go to ROTC but you can't do both.

This is not possible, suggest you contact a ROTC Representative with your Medical Discharge and medical Information concerning the reason for Disability from the US Army!! The Information would have to come from the US Army, NOT the VA!!!!

If you qualify you can receive an AF ROTC scholarship. In some cases this pays your tuition only and in some cases it pays you a stipend as well. You will incur a five year commitment for an ROTC commission, not four years. During ROTC you do not get paid for "serving in the AF". You might get an ROTC stipend. There is a difference.

More than likely not. ROTC would mean having to serve. If you are medically unable to serve, then there is no point in your doing ROTC. I would think this would disqualify you. If by some means you did qualify, you would no longer be eligable for your military disability benes as you can not recieve active duty and disability pay at the same time.

As long as you do not have more than 30% disability, you can get back into the ARMY. Air Force will not accept prior service applicants

Not likely. A discharge branded with a medical disability will keep you from being able to do everything. Sorry bro.

Have you spoke with your ROTC representative? What was his answer to this question? That is where you need to start. The VA is kinda funny about fraud, so be sure you are absolutely clear about what you can and cannot do.

No. You were excused for medical reasons from one service, why would another accept you?
