Shave your head; I'm female and that's what I did - it's far more dignified than letting it fall out gradually and messily.

Your hair will grow back; meanwhile you'll just look as if,like many young men these days, you prefer a shaved head

I'm sorry to hear you are going through this.

Since you are a young male, I would highly suggest that you NOT buy a wig since it won't look right on you.

Shave your head now, and it will be less traumatic for you than waiting for the hair to fall out in clumps and get thinner.

You will look very cool with a shaved head, and since it's winter, you can cover up with a warm hat whenever you are outside or out shopping and no one will be the wiser!

A dear friend of my husbands had leukemia and he shaved his head and b/c he did it early on no one every suspected that he was bald from the chemo. He is doing great now, btw, and his hair is grown back like normal.

Good luck!

The loss is temporary. Once you stop chemo treatment than your hair will probably grow back. Anyway if it bothers you than buy a tight fitting skull cap or baseball hat to wear while you are in treatment. My son had months of high dose chemotherapy and lost all his hair, but he always looked good. He wore a hat just to keep his head warm. He is on a chemo now that turns his hair white . . so I am not sure which he preferred . . all hair gone or white hair as a teenager.

A lot of men, even those not on chemo go for the bald look. Get your head shaved, and if it makes you feel too cold, wear a knit cap for the winter. It can look very good, but does take getting used to.

Shave it all off and be proud. Short of buying a wig, there's not much else you can do. Don't let losing your hair make you self-conscious. It's out of your control, and it'll grow back anyway once you're done with chemo. :)
You could even sell ad space on your bald noggin.

Well, 1st of all....good luck with your treatment and get well soon. If I were you, I would just shave my head. That's what we ended up doing when my dad started losing his hair (10 years ago!). Not so messy that way with hair falling out everywhere and guys shave their heads these days, so you won't look "not cool". Shaved heads are in style.

get a buzz cut and deal with the loss of hair. I'm female and it was of the worst things to deal with, you know that you may possibly lose your hair but when it happens, its really a blow. i remember cutting my hair short and then my hair falling out while showering. it came out in chunks and i just sat down and started crying. then when out of the shower i got dressed and went to get a buzz, but with the buzz i still had bald spots, so i had my son get a razor and shave it. i started wearing hats and scarfs. sometI'mes just hat, till i got to the point, hey i deserve every bit of being bald and if people got offended so what. im being me and im not here to impress anyone, nor did i want sympathy. good luck! you will be fine. god bless!

Shave it, then wear a hat. That's what I did. Or buy a wig if you want too. Plus, with winter coming up, all the heat leaves from your head, so keeping it covered keeps you warm
