The top 5 spenders are;
US - $623 billion
UK - $70 billion
France - $65 billion
Germany - $58 billion
Japan - $49 billion

Total military assets can only be guessed at but are around the following figures.

100 million soldiers (including reserves and paramilitary forces)

I don't think it matters really.

You can have a budget of billion and numbers of millions of troops, which we already have by the way.

All of this can be rendered useless by one determined person which one small little suitcase containing one small little dirty bomb.

I wish that our stupid little government officials would WAKE UP and smell the roses. Spending 20 billion on stupid missle system which does not protect us what so ever from that one simple man with one simple brief case, well its just stupid.

The threat has changed, our response has to change too. Chucking billions at something which does not protect the electorate isn't the answer. Back to the drawing board for the defence analyst idiots. My guess is that those idiots seriously underestimated the human determination factor, that no billion pound wahead system is going to stop!!

tanks, id say about 2 million for the major powers, and maybe 10 or 20 millon for all nations, manpower is easily 500million to 1 billon, and planes would be abput 20million, most nations cant afford them (not including helicopters and transports.)

Why do you want to know? Curiosity killed the cat they say. This is classified information, not only in this country, but in all countries. Folks can take guesses, but that is about it. Suffice it to say, there are enough.

Way way way too many. enough arms to kill us all a couple of times over. Seems killing each other is a number one export in the UK and America amongst others of course.
