My older brother (who is studying to become an Aalim) says that whatever we are not allowed to do in this world, we will be allowed to do in heaven and you can have whatever you want in heaven. He said, if you want a dog, you can have a dog. But, someone else told me that dogs are dirty, so we can't have them because Heaven is a clean place.

Does anyone know?

And what about our pets that we had on earth? Can we see them again in heaven?

As darkprince said .. Allah is able to create clean dogs .. in the same way he created intoxicating wine in Janah (although its haram in this life).

Allah says [50:35] There will be for them therein all that they wish, and more besides in Our Presence

So anything you wish will come true .. but you should take in consideration that your wishes in paradise will be always pure .. for example in this life you may wish that something bad happens to someone else out of envy .. but you will never wish something like that in the Jannah .. Allah says: [7:43] And We remove whatever rancour may be in their hearts.

As for the dogs living in this life .. they will be resurrected, then Allah will make justice between one and another .. then they will become dust again .. no heaven or hell for them.

The prophet (sas) said: “Allaah will judge between His creation, jinn, humans and animals. On that Day the score will be settled between the hornless and the horned, until there are no outstanding issues left, then Allaah will say, ‘Be dust!’ At the point the kaafir will say, ‘Would that I were dust!’” Shaykh al-Albaani said: This is saheeh. Heaven will not be like earth where there is rottenness and decay. If we will be clean there, everything will be clean. I don't know that animals have souls that can know God, but it is always nice to think that we will have our pets in Heaven. Maybe we love pets because we always have love left over, and in Heaven we will have opportunity to give as much love as we are able and we won't need pets.

I do not think there is evidence either way. The verses that the other poster put in do not indicate to me that heaven will have dogs in it.
Regarding the dogs are dirty thing, God is able to purify them.

I am afraid of dogs so I hope they won't be there hehehe.
Or maybe if I make it to heaven inshallah, I will not be afraid any more?

Asslamualaikom!(May Peace be on You!)

Animals—all animals—are submitters to the will of God, which makes them “muslims.” They come to this earth for a period of time, determined by God, and then they return to Him for eternity. The Quran makes it clear that all the animals will go to Heaven. The movie title; “All Dogs Go to Heaven” was absolutely correct. Dogs cannot be “bad” since they are submitters. That’s not necessarily true for all humans, but all the animals will go back to God. So, if as a human, you lead a righteous life and worship God ALONE, submit to the will of God, you will be reunited with your pets in Heaven. We can learn a lot from watching how our pets accept this concept of submission.

All the creatures on earth, and all the birds that fly with wings, are communities like you. We did not leave anything out of this book. To their Lord, all these creatures will be summoned. [6:38]

Among His proofs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the creatures He spreads in them. He is able to summon them, when He wills. [42:29]

The heavens and the earth are full of proofs for the believers. Also in your creation, and the creation of all the animals, there are proofs for people who are certain. [45:3-4]

Do you not realize that to God prostrates everyone in the heavens and the earth, and the sun, and the moon, and the stars, and the mountains, and the trees, and the animals, and many people? [22:18]

And Allah knows the best!
Jazakallah!

Our belief is that animals do have souls, but a soul which gives them animated life. But their souls are not those which are ultimately judged according to their deeds —they weren't given the same responsibility or accountability that man has."

On the Last Day of Judgment, Allah establishes justice on everything, even among the animals. For example, "if an animal with horns hits an animal without horns, on the Day of Judgment Allah will raise them up, and the one that didn't have horns in this life will be given horns to hit back the one who hit him.

"And then after that has been done, and justice has been established between the animals, the animals will turn to dust," he said. "They're not going to be rewarded with eternal life in paradise or punished with everlasting punishment."

Allah promises Jannah to those truely deserved. Nothing we read or learn is even close to what actually in Jannah, its beyond imaginary. What we read, what we learn are suited reacheable to our human mind.

Whatever we feel, we want, we need now are because of humanly lusts and passions. There will be no lusts and passion in Jannah... but perfectness. No one in Jannah will actually asked for dogs or pigs (or anything they can't have on earth) anymore when it is already a PERFECT eternal life.

THose are one of the things only Allah knows, not even his messengers have the answer. I would think the Dog in AShabe Kahf company will go to heaven so why not the rest of them?

All that has breath has a soul and so, yes, dogs will be in heaven. And personally, I know humans that are much dirtier than dogs.
