Microdermabrasion?

Question

My best friend is getting married next July and she won a facial package for her and all of her bridesmaids. We go today, I was informed that we are getting a Microdermabrasion and their Ultimate Facial. What can I expect w/ the Microdermabrasion? I wanted to ask in here to see if anyone had one and what their experience was like.

Congratulations! I've never had it done at a spa professionally, but I've used DermaE's microdermabrasion system and that was great. :) My experience was that it gently removed the dead skin off my face. It didn't hurt and my skin looked better. I did use another brand before and that was kind of harsh (it felt like my skin was stripped dry and I had to put the creme on it to make it feel better). Fine particles of mineral matter are blasted at the skin. This removes the outer layers, preferably just the outer dead layer. It is a powerful technique. As noted by others it leaves the skin very soft and more even in tone; it will also be sensitive as it has been abused. The warning is that nature developed the outer layer of the skin as a tough defensive layer. To remove it regularly is not a good idea. but for special occasions go for it.

Hi-it's pretty much just like using a facial scrub-maybe just a little more intense on rough or uneven textured areas. You might have a bit of irritation after the 2 procedures-but I personally loved the results-my skin was so much more smooth...and looked really healthy! Lucky you-enjoy!

Had this done once and found it to be a really comfortable procedure. Nothing worth worrying about at all. The procedure is rather fast and feels like suctioning throughout your face. It may leave your skin a little red and irritated depending on your complexion. But you'll notice the difference right away. You'll walk away with a bit of a glow. Enjoy!! & really nothing to worry about at all.
